Call for Nominations: Election of County Representatives to Provincial Council

Under the Bylaws of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, each County in the Province shall be represented on Council. This year there are six (6) members to be elected for three (3) year terms. Only CBA members are eligible for nomination and election and if elected, must maintain CBA membership throughout their term of office.

Those eligible to nominate and vote for a county representative are CBA members who are:

  1. Practicing members whose principal place of business is in the County, and
  2. Non-practicing members whose residence is situated in the County.

Cariboo 3 2 (1 from Northern Rockies Regional District or Peace River Regional District, 1 from Thompson-Nicola, Central Coast, Cariboo or Squamish-Lillooet Regional Districts)
Kootenay 2 2 (1 from East Kootenay and Columbia-Shuswap Regional Districts, 1 from Kootenay Boundary and Central Kootenay Regional Districts)
Nanaimo 3 2 (1 from Cowichan Valley Regional District, 1 from Nanaimo or Alberni-Clayoquot Regional Districts)
Prince Rupert 1 0
Vancouver 10 0
Victoria 3 0
Westminster 4 0
Yale 3 0

Nominations for these positions must be in writing and signed by two members and the nominee, all of whom must be CBA members.

The Nomination and Candidate Statement, must be completed and received at the Branch Office of the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch Attention: Kerry Simmons QC, Executive Director, at, ON OR BEFORE 5:00 P.M. Thursday, May 21, 2020.
