By Adrienne Atherton, Senior Counsel Co-Chair and Karen Liang, Senior Counsel Past Chair
The Senior Counsel Section got off to a great start this October with a well-attended meeting on generative AI. Ryan Black, an IT legal expert and partner from DLA Piper LLP spoke to almost 150 members about how emerging generative AI models are revolutionizing legal research, legal drafting and client interactions. Combining expertise from his background as a former software developer, Black emphasized the transformative power of AI, but cautioned lawyers about the ethical challenges and biases accompanying such technology.
Upcoming programs from this Section include a presentation on December 5th, “Microsoft Word — Tips for Working Smarter,” where Jade Buchanan, McCarthy Tetrault teach members how to use Microsoft more effectively.
