Ritchie Po, Barrister & Solicitor

Ritchie is a sole practitioner focusing on cybersecurity, and FOI / Access to Information, and data privacy law. His experience in this area includes several years as an Information Security Consultant at Telus and Senior Access to Information & Privacy Law at WorkSafeBC. Ritchie currently holds the position of Privacy Lead at Kobalt.io, a cybersecurity consulting firm serving small to medium size businesses in the tech industry. Formerly the Chair of the FOI & Privacy Law subsection of the CBA (BC Branch), he currently serves on the Canadian Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Ritchie is a Certified Information & Privacy Professional, with designations in both Canadian and EU (GDPR) data privacy laws.

To be eligible to utilize the Practice Coaches Program, participants must acknowledge the following:

Participants contacting a coach are responsible for their own decisions and outcomes.
Participants are Law Society of BC members in good standing.
Participants are expected to be prepared for their call with a coach by doing any necessary research and critical thinking about the issue beforehand.
Participants must remain aware of any potential conflicts of interest, including the potential that someone else in the firm may be representing an opposing or related party.
Participants must maintain client confidentiality. Share only the information necessary to have the discussion.
Coaches have generously contributed their time to offer their guidance. Calls are expected to be between 15-30 minutes; please be prepared and efficient with your time.
Coaches are not obligated to continue assisting you without remuneration over a period of time after the initial call.
