Wills, estates, and trust has comprised at least 60% of Margaret’s practice since she was first called to the bar. She also served as a member of one of the BCLI committees which brought about the introduction of WESA and the resulting changes to the probate rules. Conservation law currently comprises 30% of Margaret’s practice. She has been involved in the development of conservation covenants and other real property matters leading to the protection of the environment for approximately 20 years.

Where disputes become inevitable, Fiona helps clients reach resolutions through mediation and advises on litigation options. Her advice is informed by over four decades of experience in law, her passionate interest in the law, and a liberal dose of common sense. Fiona has a Masters of Law in trusts and has written extensively about them and other estate planning matters, including Drafting Trusts and Wills Trusts in Canada. She teaches at professional development courses and has been an adjunct professor at the University of Victoria law school. She is qualified as an expert in trust law by the Supreme Court of BC.

Jackie was called to the Bar in 1985 and was always a solicitor, even when working for the Law Society. After a brief stint at retirement, Jackie set up her own home-based practice in North Vancouver in 2005 solely in the areas of Wills, Estates, and related matters. Jackie does not handle estate litigation or inter vivos trusts. Jackie looks forward to helping CBABC members who have Wills and Estates questions.
