Guest Speaker: The Honourable Judge Alexander Wolfe of the Provincial Court of British Columbia
Meeting Title/Topic: Aboriginal Court
Synopsis: The Honourable Judge Alexander Wolfe discussed his experiences with helping to establish the North Vancouver First Nations Court, and then his work there. He gave insight into how to proceed with setting up a First Nations court in our area.
Comments and Observations of the Chair
We continued to have a couple of sessions in Smithers this year. In the upcoming year, we would like to have more sessions in Terrace and Prince Rupert, as well as continue the sessions in Smithers. The Section is a great resource for lawyers to gather and discuss the relevant issues of our practices. Congratulations to Co-Chair Karen Whonnock on her recent appointment to the Provincial Court of British Columbia!
