CBABC President's Message on BC Wildfires

  • July 14, 2017

Massive wildfires in British Columbia have forced thousands from their homes and created a state of emergency in our province. The Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch (CBABC) is providing resources for members in affected areas as well as for those who would like to donate to help.

Below you'll find very useful links to information such as the current status of all wildfires burning around BC, evacuation routes, emergency reception centres and how to make a donation. We know that our members are concerned and caring, and want to help.

For CBABC members in Cariboo County, we encourage you to learn more about the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre, and visit its Facebook page. For those in the Thompson-Nicola area, you can go to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Emergency Operations Centre. If you need help coordinating livestock evacuation, please email your details to the BC Cattlemen's Association at wildfires@cattlemen.bc.ca. Please let us know if we can support you further by phoning us toll-free in BC at 1.888.687.3404 or send an email to members@CBABC.org.

Again, please visit the links below for more on BC's wildfires, where to find help, and how to donate.

Stay safe!
