From Dignity Memorial

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son and uncle Kenneth (Ken) Kramer on June 5, 2023 at the age of 57. Ken was diagnosed with cancer late last year and fought a courageous battle as a fearless warrior until the end. He left this world to join his father, Karl. He is survived by his loving wife Cora, adoring daughter Victory-Maurene, mother Olga, brother Rick (Carmela), half-sister Dorothy (Bonny), and sisters-in-law Francesca and Mary. Ken will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all of his cherished family, friends and colleagues.

He was born January 7, 1966. At a very early age Ken was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Although he had many challenges over his lifetime, his determination never wavered. He became a Lawyer and went on to practice Estate Law independently in his own firm KMK Law, with a focus on assisting those with disabilities. Throughout his life and 30 year law career, Ken would always display kindness, patience and understanding. His tireless efforts to create a better life for his family, friends and community were apparent in everything he did. He has been a member of countless associations and board appointments ranging from the Law Society of BC, Canadian Bar Association, Spinal Muscular Atrophy under the umbrella of National Muscular Dystrophy Canada, Disability Community, the Province of BC Accessibility Committee, RDSP Action Group, Vancouver Airport Authority, College of Chiropractors of BC, EMALB BC Ministry of Health, British Columbia Continuing Legal Education Society, and numerous others.

Ken will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a wonderful personality that would lift anyone’s spirits. Not only was he of keen intelligence and unwavering work ethic, but he possessed the rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His great sense of humour knew no bounds and was sure to make everyone laugh, not to mention the twinkle in his eyes told a story all on their own. Spending time with family and friends was a priority for him. In his spare time Ken enjoyed watching hockey or football either on tv or in the arena, going to concerts and travelling to beautiful Hawaii whenever possible.

Ken’s legacy will live on through his family and the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. His impact will continue to inspire and guide us with the lasting impression he left on everyone who knew him.

He will be forever missed, forever loved and his memory never forgotten.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and the nursing staff at BC Cancer Agency (Dr. Gill, Dr. Dunne, Debbie Caleca) and Vancouver General Hospital (Dr. Road, Dr. Choi, Dr. Tabassi, Dr. Isserow) for their excellent treatment over his lifetime. A special thank you to his Caregivers, Grace Sangalan (His Angel), Jean Dungca & Marie Alo for their exceptional care and friendship.

A private burial will be held by the family on Tuesday, June 20th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park where Ken will be laid to rest. A Celebration of Life will be held in Ken’s honor at a later date. An announcement will be sent in advance and will be posted on Ken’s law firm website at www.kmklaw.net.
