Summary of Meetings: Aboriginal Law - Vancouver

Interested in practicing Aboriginal law but not sure where to start? Curious about what it actually means to practice Aboriginal law? A range of Aboriginal legal practitioners working across a range of practice areas (i.e., solicitor work, negotiations, litigation and more) and in a range of settings (i.e., experience in big firms, boutique firms, NGOs, government and in-house) discussed their perspectives practicing Aboriginal Law.

Robert Janes, QC of JFK Law Corporation presented his annual update on developments in Aboriginal Law.

Myrna McCallum, Jessica Magonet, and River Shannon will present on ways to incorporate cultural humility and trauma informed practices into the legal practice and reconciliation efforts.
