2009 CBABC/UBC Faculty of Law Mentoring Reception

On October 22, 2009, the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch (CBABC) held the CBABC/UBC Faculty of Law Mentoring Reception in Vancouver, British Columbia. The evening was moderated by the CBABC student representative Joanna Dawson. Dean Mary Anne Bobinski spoke on behalf of the UBC Faculty of Law about the importance of the mentoring process to the students. She thanked the mentors present for their continued support of their profession by being mentors and assisting students and new lawyers.

CBABC President James M. Bond presented the $4,000 UBC CBA Law Student Scholarship to Kaity Cooper. Mr. Bond commended Ms. Cooper for showing great dedication to her community, and clearly demonstrating the values and ideals of the CBA.

Diana Dorey (Member, Board of Directors, CBIA and Elected Representative, Vancouver County, CBABC Provincial Council) presented Joel Morris with the Canadian Bar Association Financial Services Corporation Law School Achievement award.
