The Second Annual Battle of the Bar Bands hosted by the Nanaimo County Bar Association took place before a sold out crowd at the Queens Hotel in Nanaimo on Saturday, October 17, 2009. It was an incredible evening of rock and roll. The floorboards of the Queens Hotel rocked to the sounds of Blind Elmo (Victoria), Reverbs (Victoria), Carpe Grovum (Nanaimo), shed (Nanaimo), and QC and the Moonshine Band (Vancouver). All the bands put in solid performances and the applause-o-meter held by the Queen's manager ensured fairness in deciding the winning band, shed, which was presented with the annual trophy by CBABC Vice President Stephen McPhee and Joanne R Silver of the CBA. The biggest winner of the evening was the CBA (BC) Benevolent Society. Basil Hobbs, President of the Society and MC for the evening, thanked everyone for making this year’s event a huge success!
