Supreme Court of BC: Update Regarding Online Booking for Civil and Family Matters

"Since 2020, counsel and parties have had the option of booking Case Planning Conferences (CPCs), Judicial Case Conferences (JCCs), and Trial Management Conferences (TMCs) through the Supreme Court’s online booking system. Beginning in fall 2024, the Court will be transitioning to a fully online booking system for these types of conferences, as well as for trials and lengthy chambers hearings in civil and family matters."

FAM 09: Consent Adjournment (FLA/FMEA)

Purpose: To set out the procedure for adjourning matters under the Family Law Act, S.B.C. 2011, c. 25 (FLA) or the Family Maintenance Enforcement Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 127 (FMEA) from one court date to another or to adjourn generally.

Arbitration Services for Interim Family Law Matters

With a view of increasing access to justice during these difficult times, some B.C. family law arbitrators have offered to provide a four-hour arbitration, conducted remotely, to resolve parties' interim matters at an hourly rate of $250, plus taxes and disbursements. This four-hour process will include the review of materials, submissions and delivery of reasons.
