Provincial Court of BC recovers some operations

"As part of the Court’s COVID-19 recovery plan, we are now introducing mandatory pre-trial conferences for most adult and youth criminal trials and preliminary inquiries, as well as for family and small claims trials. We are also making telephone sentencing hearings available for some non-urgent out-of-custody matters and resuming case conferences in family and small claims cases by telephone or videoconference.”

Provincial justice system advisory groups established

The Ministry of Attorney General is establishing two advisory groups to support government response to the impact of restrictive public health measures on the justice system. These groups will help government support courts and tribunals in delivering services as effectively as possible during the pandemic and in minimizing its impact on the justice system.
