Letter to Attorney General of BC Re: Bill 57

"Our members are committed to the access to justice goals of Bill 57 – specifically the issues of financial and geographical access to legal advice - however we are concerned about the haste in which Bill 57 has been introduced without a proper opportunity for meaningful consultation with the experienced and committed family law practitioners who work daily with clients."

CBABC Position Paper on The Proposed ICBC Changes in Bill 20 and Bill 22

At this stage, the CBABC position is that the case for fundamental changes including statutory abrogation of the rights of injured citizens to full and fair compensation, because of uncontrollable costs has not been established. What has been established, however, is that the number of accidents occurring each year has been steadily increasing. The solution to that problem, however, is to look at and deal head-on with the causes of those increases.
