Advisory Committee to Judicial Council

Calling all Senior Counsel!

Give back to B.C.’s justice system by assisting the recruitment process for Provincial Court judicial justices and judges. Join the Advisory Committee to Judicial Council to prepare confidential reports on judicial applicants. The Committee has seen a rise in applications and welcomes your support.

The Committee meets only twice during the year. Otherwise, your time is spent reviewing applications, conducting reference checks, and preparing reports. Each report takes approximately 8-15 hours to prepare, and each Committee member prepares 1-2 reports depending on their availability.

To join, you must be a senior member of the bar with at least 10 years of practice experience. Please do not sign up for this committee if you have applied to the Provincial Court or plan to apply within the next two years.
