Member Services & Engagement Committee

Mandate

This Board committee:

  • Monitors and provides input to member services and engagement programs and activities including but not limited to sections, professional development, mentorship programs, law school presence, regional connections, lawyer wellness programs, and member recognition initiatives;
  • Receives and reviews member intelligence reports on the needs of members and provides relevant information to committees;
  • Co-ordinates volunteers in support of external initiatives such as Law Week and Access to Justice Week;
  • Monitors and provides recommendations to the Board with respect to professional development requirements of the LSBC;
  • Monitors and makes recommendations to the Board regarding sections policy;
  • Monitors and makes recommendations to the Board regarding programs and services that may no longer meet member needs and values;
  • Considers nominations and makes recommendations to the Board regarding CBABC Award Winners;
  • Monitors and liaises with the work of standing committees and working groups within the Member Services & Engagement strategic grouping, so as to ensure a coordinated focus and effort, and reporting thereon to the Board.
