One of the cornerstone events held in British Columbia during Law Week is the annual Barry Sullivan Law Cup public speaking contest. The competition is sponsored by the Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch and is open to students enrolled in grades 11-12 in British Columbia.

The 2012 Vancouver Law Week Open House was held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on April 17, 2012 at the Vancouver Art Gallery, 750 Hornby Street Vancouver. Law Day events included a free public forum, and display booths.

More than 325 members of the Bench and Bar attended the 27th Annual Bench and Bar Dinner on November 8, 2011 in Vancouver.

On June 22, 2011, the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association held a Professional Development Seminar in partnership with the Criminal Justice-Vancouver Section. The seminar took place at the Law Courts Inn, with some lively conversations prior to dinner.

CBABC President Stephen McPhee and VBA President Sandra Kovacs hosted the 15th Annual Canadian Bar Association/Vancouver Bar Association Golf Tournament that was held on June 16, 2011.

The CBABC Tenth Annual Battle of the Bar Bands took place before an enthusiastic and sold out crowd at the Commodore Ballroom on Friday, June 10, 2011. The event coincided with the Vancouver Canuck’s stunning victory over the Boston Bruin’s in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

On May 13, 2011, the CBABC Women Lawyers Forum presented "Build Your Blueprint for Success." This well attended seminar explored personal priorities, goals and boundaries to help participants develop their personal blueprint for success, in a comfortable, safe and confidential environment.

A mock trial for Lou Sur was held at 7:00 pm on April 27, 2011 at Key City Theatre, 20 - 14th Avenue North, Cranbrook. The much feared Mr Justice Hangem presided in the mock trial of Lou Sur, a 40 year old construction worker, who was charged with break and enter and theft over $5,000.

The 2011 Victoria Law Day Open House was held from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on April 16, 2011 at the Victoria Courthouse at 850 Burdett Avenue.

A free Public Forum was held at 12:00 pm on April 16, 2011 with CBC host Ian Hanomansing and a panel of top legal professionals in the CBC Vancouver Building at 700 Hamilton Street.
